Hey everyone! My name is Jessica Bechtold and I’m 20 years old. I can’t wait to meet y’all! I currently am going to a junior college in College Station (Texas A&M) and I love it here. I’m Pre-Dental Hygiene and will hopefully be starting there in the fall. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister-in-law and awesome parents. I’m from New Braunfels so that is still where I call “home.” I graduated from a private christian school that I absolutely loved and was very blessed to get to go to school in that environment and I made so many great friends there.
I became a follower of Christ at a young age but have grown the most my last two years of high school and since I’ve been in college. Being away from home as you know is exciting in the way that your faith must become your own and can’t just be your parent’s faith so I have really enjoyed finding my own church and getting involved here in College Station. In College Station it seems to be more of a “trend” to want to go to Africa but I have had a heart for this place since I was probably 7 years old. So this is definitely a long time coming for me and I am so excited about what we will be doing and getting to do all those things as a team. I realize that I am pretty late in getting accepted into this trip so I will confess that I am a little worried about the funding but at the same time I know that God has called me to this trip, so He will provide! I hope y’alls fundraising is going great and I can’t wait to get to know more about y’all!
