Hi! I’m Katie Thrasher and I’m from Shoreview, Minnesota. I’m 21 years old and graduating this December from Northwestern college with a degree in Psychology and minor in Spanish and Bible.
I love helping people (one of the main reasons I’m a psych major) and I really enjoy my job. I work at ACR homes. It’s a group home for people with dissabilities. I’ve been working with the same residents for the last two years and I just love them all. They’re a big part of my life.
I also enjoy painting, dancing, tennis, beach volleyball, and road trips with my best friends. I don’t find much time to do it all, but when I get to it’s so relaxing. I’m blessed to have great friends and family. I have two sisters. I’m the middle child- they’re both two years apart from me. Some words that would best describe me are caring, spontaneous, and strong-willed.
I’m so excited to have the opportunity to go to Swaziland, Africa. I’ve been on four other missions trips- all to Mexico. They were all a week- two weeks, so three months is quite a difference for me. I’m excited to be stretched and taught so much more about what it means to have faith. I look forward to meeting all of you, experiencing new things, and growing in our faith together 🙂
